Balkan Treasures—Dubrovnik and Beyond
April 24 to May 7, 2017
Please join me on this 14 day tour of the highlights of
Croatia and other cultural sites in the Balkans. We begin in Dubrovnik and end in the Croatian
capital, Zagreb.
On arrival in Dubrovnik we will transfer to our hotel where
we will relax before enjoying a Welcome Dinner.
Our first day begins with a guided tour of Dubrovnik’s Old
City with free time to explore further in the afternoon.
The next day we will journey to Montenegro to visit Our Lady
of the Rocks in the Bay of Kotor as well as Kotor town and return to Dubrovnik.

From here we will drive to Mostar for an Old City tour
including its famous bridge. ( one night

We travel on to Split where we will see Diocletians Palace
among other sites before continuing on to the medieval town on Trogir.
The next day takes us to the island of Hvar with its natural
beauty. We return by ferry to Split and
on to Trogir. ( 2 nights Trogir)
From Trogir we move on to Zadar to see the Roman Forum and
St. Donatus Church. This is followed by
a day at leisure in Zadar. Explore on
your own, shop, or sit in a cafe, it’s up to you. ( 2 nights Zadar)
Our next stop is Plitvice Lakes National Park. Sixteen lakes at different levels connected
by a series of cascading waterfalls. A
natural wonder that has to be seen. ( one night Plitvice)
We leave this natural beauty and head for the Croatian
capital, Zagreb. We will tour some of
its many impressive sites. The following day is at leisure to do as you wish in
this vibrant city. ( 2 nights Zagreb)
We move on to another capital city, Ljubljana, the capital
of Slovenia, where we will enjoy a panoramic tour as well as a walking
tour. We will continue to Bled to
overnight. ( one night Bled)
In the morning we have a cruise of Lake Bled, an emerald
green glacial lake with an idyllic setting, followed by a visit to Bled castle
before departing for Zagreb. (one night

The following day we head for home.
