About At Home Inn Morocco’s small group tours
What began as a
discussion with friends about how much we enjoyed going visiting family, has
evolved into yearly tours with others who want a “different” kind of holiday.
Since 2003, we have had the pleasure of accompanying several groups of
wonderful people around Morocco.
Some visited the
north, spending time in the veritable living medieval city of Fes; the capital
of Morocco, Rabat; small mountain villages; and the majestic Atlantic coast.
Others visited
the south, with its argan oil co-operatives, oases, High Atlas Berber villages,
camels in the desert and Marrakech!
All experienced
the magnificent Moroccan culture, colours, sights and sounds - and of course,
the famous Moroccan hospitality.
To give group
participants an authentic experience as well as to follow ecotourism principles
as much as possible, group sizes are kept to a minimum (no more than
12). For the most part, we stay in traditional accommodations,
often off the beaten track. The tours are not rushed, as we usually stay
at least two days in most places we visit. We have been invited
into people’s homes on several occasions, which we understand for group members was a very enriching experience.
Here is what
some of our past participants have said about the tours:
Itinerary:
“I wouldn’t have missed any of it.
I can’t think of any of it that I wouldn’t recommend to others or do again
myself.”
“Not
over planned or chaotic.”
“The
itinerary was expertly planed to create a 'crescendo of beauty'; it just kept
getting better and better. An absolutely marvellous trip.”
Ideas about Morocco: “I found the Moroccan
people very warm and generous and welcoming of foreigners.”
“My
biggest eye opener was the beauty; tile and carvings everywhere even where
they are not expected.”
Group Experience: “First time traveling
with small group and having arrangements made. Very low stress.”
“It
was my first 'toured' trip. I really loved not having to think about travelling
means or driving regulations or plan my next accommodation. I was free to enjoy
and go with the flow.”
Accommodations: “All different and
completely appropriate for each locale.”
If you are
interested in these types of trips, please feel free to contact us for more
information. Even if you are unable to be part of our
upcoming trip, we would be more than happy to keep you informed of future ones.
